Dr. Peter W. DeBryDr. Peter W. DeBry

Cataract surgery is one of the most successful and hightech surgeries done in the US each year. With cataract surgery, the cloudy lens of the eye is removed through a small incision and a new clear artificial lens is implanted. Modern developments in implantable lens technology are expanding your choices and can improve your range of clear vision after a successful cataract surgery. The Wellish Vision Institute is a regional leader in cataract surgery and lens implantation.

Success in cataract surgery requires high quality standards and attention to fine details. Dr. Peter W. DeBry brings these qualities to the Wellish Vision Institute with his training in cataract surgery and lens implantation. Dr. DeBry completed medical school at the University of Utah in 1996. At that time he was honored with induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, reserved for the top physicians in each graduating class. Next he spent three years of residency focused on medical and surgical eye care in Madison, Wisconsin, where he was chosen to help coordinate resident training as the chief resident. After this he was one of only four doctors nationally selected to attend one of the country’s top fellowships in eye surgery techniques, and spent the next year at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. After working with the top doctors learning the most up-todate surgical techniques, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he taught these techniques to new eye surgeons as Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Missouri. Finally, he relocated to Las Vegas in 2003 to help provide glaucoma, cataract, and refractive lens surgery for the Wellish Vision Institute.

Dr. DeBry was invited to be among the first few groups of eye surgeons in the United States trained in the surgical techniques of Verisyse and Staar ICL Lens implantation. He is certified for implantation of ReSTOR, ReZoom, and Crystalens as options for vision enhancement with cataract surgery. He has presented research at local and national meetings and has published articles in national ophthalmology journals.
